Greetings and Salutations! :D

Okay - so - my Mom has a blog that she will be using to tell of our travels out west! (If you don't know by now, we are leaving for a three to four month trip out west in our RV) visit http://wearenomads.blogspot.com/ to see travel updates! There isn't anything too interesting there now (well, two posts and a picture of my Mom hehe) but there will be more shortly!

(just a boring academic update) I AM ENROLLED AT LSU!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I'm a wee bit excited about that? YEAH!!! I am enrolled for Calculus I at Lousiana State University - it's an online class. I am totally pumped!!! :D :D (yes, I gave up on the Calculus CLEP. kinda sad, but this way will be better I hope) For now though, American Literature is next Tuesday and after that ... I should probably do Western Civilization I and II - I have been putting those off for WAY too long.

So yeah! There is my random post of the day. :) God bless you all!!! (oh by the way ... comments aren't outlawed ... (hint)(hint) hehe)

Trust - it's an amazing thing

Last Thursday I volunteered at SPURS (a place that gives riding lessons to disabled people - kids and adults alike). It's really great, I get to work with horses and I get to be a part in giving someone a great experience. Anyway - I got paired to work with a girl named Santana. She is 23 years old, and is totally blind. Amazingly, she is a great rider! But I was thinking, as I helped her saddle her horse, get on, and ride - about how much trust she had to have in me. For all she knew, I could be leading her into some dangerous place, or I could have her horse start running off ... a number of things! It was really cool though, we talked about a lot of things as I told her to turn right, turn left around the cones, sit back as we went up and over the bridge, and helped her put a stuffed animal in a mailbox she couldn't see. She's a great girl, and it was an afternoon I'll never forget.

I was thinking about this more afterward, and realized that this was a lot like our relationship with God. He has our future in the palm of His hand, and is leading us through it. Sure, He might let us go the wrong way to make us learn a lesson, but it's amazing to think about how much we really have to trust God with everything we have. We are totally blind to the future, but isn't it great to know that God is not?!

kites and fireworks (not together though lol)

Sooo - my adorable little brother decided to get the kite tangled around the telephone wires above our house! It's still up there (from Monday), and kinda dangerous as the strings are touching both telephone wires and the ground! Small prayer request ... that the electric company guys come and deal with it a.s.a.p. and that no one gets injured (electrocuted!!!) from it being there. Thanks!

Have a wonderful Fourth of July by the way! Thank you to all the troops because we probably wouldn't live in a country called America if it weren't for men fighting to keep our freedoms.
