A Young Maiden's Daybook - 4 (sorry it's been so long!)

Today… is Monday, April 27, 2009.

Outside my window… I can hear birds, see green grass ... and it looks like rain.

I am thinking… what music should I listen to? I need to learn about derivatives today.

I am thankful for… good food, the fact that I can learn!

I am wearing… my black Creation Museum tshirt, a green sweatshirt, ballet sweatpants and knee-high striped socks. (still in my pajamas :P )

I am reading… John, a book on the prayer life of Jesus by Charles Spurgeon, my English Lit. study book.

I am creating… a letter to my friend Jacey.

One of my favorite things… sewing! (have been sewing dance recital costume recently!)

For education this week… Study English Lit. and Calculus ... hopefully I can master the derivative this week!

A keeper at home skill I am using/learning ... how to be more organized.

A spiritual lesson I’m learning… to not judge lest I be judged.

A godly character trait I plan to work on… to have a meek and quiet spirit.

Scripture I am memorizing… Hopefully this week I can memorize Matthew 6:25-34

I am praying for… the dance recital - that all goes well. That work doesn't get any more stressful for my Dad.

For the rest of the week… study, sew, dance, read! listen to good music and maybe a podcast.

A picture I’d like to share ... from Family Week! (where we were ... that's why I didn't post) from left to right - Naomi, Sarah, me, Abigail (Abigail and Naomi are sisters) They are all from Colorado! We had fun :)

Ach nein!

I totally forgot about doing the Young Maiden's Daybook!!! We are on vacation in Kentucky with a bunch of other families and the time just flew on by. I will try and get it in next week, although it may prove difficult as we will be driving from Madison Wisconsin to home on Monday. Time will tell I suppose.

But we are having a fabulous trip - we are at a campground at Ken Lake State Park near Aurora Kentucky. I have two of my really good friends here, and their families, which are just awesome. When I get together with these friends, we like to dance! We do Hebraic dancing and it is so much fun to be able to dance with my friends and praise Yahweh at the same time! Like Psalm 150 verse 4 says ''Praise Him with tambourine and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!'' Lots of dancing, food, laughing, talking, walking ... it's been really great. I will post a link to a photo album of our trip as I get them all organized (on my to-do list for tonight).

Another exciting thing planned - we are going to be going to the Creation Museum on Saturday!!! I am sooo excited for that! :D After knowing about it before they even broke ground on it, and getting AiG's updates and everything, it will be amazing to see. *can't wait!*

I will leave you with a video that was recently put out by the school I am attending for college! Hopefully if you all ever had any questions about it, this will answer them. (Although, I think that most of the people, few though they are, that read my blog, are my friends from College Plus! :P haha)

things above vs. things below

I have been convicted of late. Of spending too much time thinking about things here on earth. I was asking myself the other day, how can I better glorify God? Am I glorifying God in everything that I am doing now? Is what I am doing today, the best use of my time for His Kingdom and His glory?

I was reading in a 30 day devotional book by George Muller on Faith, how to get closer to God. We need to dwell on Spiritual things - build up treasures in Heaven, not treasures on earth. The only way we are going to get closer to God is if we glorify Him in everything we do, and concentrate on Heavenly rewards vs. earthly rewards. Am I doing that? I'm not sure I am.

So, with that, I am resolving to dwell on Heavenly things from here on out in my blog (and in other aspects of my life), and for the blog to not be all about me (even though I haven't been too overly ''all about me''). Yes, it is my blog, but I think that I could post things which would be more glorifying to God and less glorifying to myself, which is what needs to happen. ''More of You and less of me.'' right?
