"Love is life. If you miss love, you miss life."
 -Leo Buscaglia

I have no idea who that Leo fellow is, but I was searching for love-relating-to-life quotes for an essay I wrote, and I found this one. It's so great. We were created to love and be loved. Just think about the two greatest commandments in Scripture, and the reason God sent His Son to die. Love.

Reminds me of this song by Brandon Heath.
It also reminds me of how hard it can be to wait for the man who will become the love of my life.

- <-- that's a negative sign

I know I shouldn't.... I really do.... so forgive me - but - I just feel like writing a complaining post (then putting on some of Beckah Shae's music to feel better). So be forewarned, this post will be rather negative. If you don't read it, I don't blame you one bit. Anyways.

I'm tired.
It's freezing outside.
The roads are insanely icy.
I had a headache all day - still have it.
There just hasn't been enough time to study for my final on Friday.
I don't even know if I can take my final on Friday because my proctor hasn't called me back!
I don't have enough time to do more than say "hi" and "bye" to my family in a day.
I miss my brothers.
People want me to work more hours than I already am at the three jobs I have.
*sigh*

Oh, changed my mind. There has been a couple awesome things about this day.... one is right now. I made myself a hot cup of coffee, it was delightful, and now I'm going to sleep.
Goodnight, America.

the promised land

Today my family was reading our weekly section of the Torah, and we read Numbers 13-15. This is where Moses sends 12 men to scope out the land of Canaan - The Promised Land which God gave them. It's really interesting, because when they come back, there are only 2 guys who think the land is amazing. Everyone else only sees the giants that are there.

This sparked some good family conversation. In life, there are amazing things and scary things with every situation. Depending on your attitude, you can choose to dwell on the good, or choose to dwell on the bad. We see the results of what happened when the other 10 men dwelt on the bad. So be positive! Remember, God made the Heavens and the Earth - if you trust Him that the ground isn't going to collapse from under you when you walk outside, you can trust Him to guide you through new lands with many giants.

In other news... my parents are now back from their week-and-a-half long trip to Costa Rica! It's their 25th wedding anniversary, so they decided to have an adventure to celebrate. And boy, what an adventure they had. They took Yakar (my camera) along with, so they could get some good pictures of Costa Rica. They got some decent ones! I'll be putting them up on my photo blog this afternoon - enjoy looking at them!

Oh, one more thing. A couple friends of mine (and I'm not at liberty to mention who they are ;) ) just started a blog about courtship. Or rather, the Idiot's Guide to Courtship. It's a very, very funny blog - with some good advice as well. (You just need to make sure you separate the truly good advice from the super sarcastic advice). So enjoy!!! http://idiotsguidetocourtship.blogspot.com/
