I would probably grab my main used Bible, my wallet, my laptop, a pistol and my camera. Yes it sounds like a lot but I could probably grab all of it in less than 60 seconds. I would sorely miss my pillow and books.
Ooo... interesting question. First thing that came to mind was the piano... but I can't exactly "grab" that :( ... Probably the same as Aaron, except the pistol and wallet, because I have neither.
Actually, I'm one step ahead. My 16 GB flashdrive contains everything that is absolutely irreplaceable, and it resides in my pocket 24/7....yeah, even when I'm sleeping. I've digitized nearly everything I can, including important paperwork. Eventually, I plan to replace it with a portable external hard drive (that will have more room, naturally) which I can keep on my bedside nightstand.
What most people fail to realize is that, in a fire, you DO NOT have time to go grab stuff. Unless it is a single item you can grab *at the same time you leave your bed*, forget it. Hence the portable hard drive on the nightstand....I can grab that at the same time as I'm jumping out of bed. A wallet is about the only other thing I have that contains irreplaceable items, and it already resides on my nightstand.
*nods* right, right. All that stuff IS important - but Kali hit the nail on the head (at least in my humble opinion). People are the only thing that's really irreplaceable. Yeah... I'd probably try and grab my purse on the way though.
Gun, guitar, wallet, computer... stuff that cost me an arm and a leg if I could... but yeah, I'd have to say I doubt I could run past my little bro's room without stopping. That's something we ALL should've thought about!

ReplyDeleteFlashdrive... that's a good idea, Chase.
Good ideas. Sadly I couldn't get to any of my family in 60 seconds.

ReplyDeleteMy computer ... my camera!!! ... my teddy bear (sentimental, people). That's all I can think of that I'd be worried about, really.
ReplyDeleteI'm answering the question assuming that I'm not worried about other people's safety. :P
